If you're a frequent Roku user, you might be familiar with your theme changing suddenly, without any prompting from you. Every now and then the theme will change, and suddenly your TV will be taken over by a new film or sports event promotion.

If you prefer to stick with a standard theme, there's an easy fix for this.

Pull up your Roku menu and go to Settings > Themes > Custom Settings. You will see an option for Featured Themes, which you should make sure is set to off. This will stop your Roku theme from automatically changing.

If you're doing this right after your theme was automatically changed, you're going to have to manually go in and revert your theme to its original state.

Custom Roku Themes

If you're a fan of custom themes, you can actually select one from a small collection of custom themes for your Roku. There are two ways you can add custom themes.

You can pull up the Roku menu and go to Streaming Channels, where you can search for themes and install them the way you would a new channel. Or you can go to Settings > Themes and the last item at the bottom of your list of themes should be Get more themes.

You can remove themes by going to your theme list, hovering over the theme and hitting the Options (*) button to pull up the menu.

It's worth noting only three of the themes are free with prices for the rest ranging from $0.99 to $2.99 per theme. To see how Roku custom themes work, check out the video below:
