Plex has launched its own free streaming service full of movies, TV shows, and documentaries. Plex is offering thousands of pieces of content for free, and you may have even heard of some of them. And all you need to do is sit through the occasional ad.

Streaming services are all the rage. There are top tier options such as Netflix and Disney+, and then there are free options such as Crackle and Tubi TV. We've compiled a list of the best streaming TV services, but now there's a new entry to consider.

What Is Plex's Free Streaming Service?

Plex announced its streaming service in a post on The Plex Blog. The company is offering "thousands of free movies, TV shows, extreme sports films, music documentaries, Bollywood musicals, and more." It's free, with no hardware or subscription required.

Plex claims that it's aiming to "deliver the best experience possible, while also giving you the control and customization to stream it your way." And unlike other free streaming services, Plex's offering is available in more than 200 countries worldwide.
