If you have been tempted to buy Overwatch, but haven't yet dipped your hand into your pocket, Blizzard is making the game free-to-play for one weekend only. And it would be rude for gamers to turn down such a generous offer, right?

For the uninitiated, Overwatch is a team-based first-person shooter first released in May 2016. Players pick a character and then engage in online battles, with a variety of game modes available to choose from. Overwatch is an insanely popular game that already boasts 20 million players.

However, there's always room for more. Which is why Blizzard is offering potential Overwatch players a chance to sample the game for free without spending a dime. And all you need is a PC with a Battle.net account, a PS4 with PlayStation Plus, or an Xbox One with Xbox Live.

The Overwatch Free Weekend will run from 18:00 UTC on November 18th through to 23:00 UTC on November 21st. You can see when the free weekend starts and ends in your location by typing the UTC times above into Google Search.

Play the Full Game Free for 3 Days

This isn't simply a demo either, as Blizzard is offering the full roster of heroes, maps, and game modes for the whole weekend. This should allow potential Overwatch players to make a qualified decision as to whether to purchase the full game once the free weekend ends.

Any progress you make during the Free Weekend will be saved to your account, so if you do then buy the full game, you can carry on where you left off. However, Trophies and Achievements have been disabled for the Free Weekend.

The Overwatch Free Weekend client will only become available to download on November 18th, so we recommend you get in early to avoid disappointment. The Free Weekend client is approximately 12GB, so make sure you have enough space on your hard drive before the 18th arrives.
