While some Android and iOS games have Chromecast support built right into them, most don’t. If you’re looking for a way to get your Android games up on the big screen, it’s a pretty simple task using a native Android feature. And best of all, it’s a feature that iPhone users can get through one of Google’s apps.

Before you open up the game you want to cast to your TV, you’re going to need to turn on screen mirroring from your Quick Settings panel. If you already have the Cast button added to your Quick Settings, just skip to the fourth step.

  1. Swipe down to open up your notifications panel and tap the arrow to expand the Quick Settings panel.
  2. Tap the Edit (pencil) button.
  3. Under Drag to add tiles, drag and drop the Cast button into the top section.
  4. Go back to the Quick Settings panel and tap the Cast button.
  5. You should see a list of Chromecast devices available on your network.
  6. Tap the Chromecast device plugged into your TV.

And that’s it. You should now see your phone mirrored on your TV and you can play games, or do pretty much anything else you would on your phone, but with the added benefit of a big screen.

If you’re not seeing the Cast option in your Quick Settings window, that means your phone is not running the stock version of Android. So Samsung Galaxy users, for example, are going to have to go about this a different way, but it’s still pretty simple. This method can also be used by iPhone users as well.

  1. If you don’t already have it, download and open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu button.
  3. Tap Cast Screen / Audio
  4. In the window that opens up, tap the blue Cast Screen / Audio button.
  5. Tap the Chromecast device plugged into your TV.

If your phone is not running the stock version of Android, there are plenty of reasons to consider going through the hassle of rooting your device to get it.
