As the lights fade by the moderator brought me back to dave grusin, bozz scaggs, michael pedicin, jr old school jazz. nice. shugmonkey's "whats's the gag" was pretty trippy too. but the music i could relate to the most was Saul Stokes. Awesome tracks. Sometimes you have to let the music play on before "pigeon holing" it "self-involved". many thanks tina

It's true, the more often you listen to a piece, the more it will grow on you. Thanks for sharing your impressions, Carlos!

Lounge music? Nice idea, Tina. One of the reasons I hang out at cafes is the ambiance which includes the music. In parties, the typical mainstream pop songs would play, along with the occasional Bollywood, K-Pop or even J-Pop type of music. You know, songs that make you dance. In less ruffled settings though, we usually play music with strong Spanish guitar themes.

While I think the first 8 songs give me the chill vibe, I don't think I can agree with the rest. Interestingly though, some of the music here reminds me of the game The Sims for some reason, which I think features a lot of lounge music.

With few exceptions, I found the tracks to be more about the process than the product. And for me, most of them took too long to get to the point.

Exactly. For me the exceptions were "Sagar Om" and "Ephemera". Otherwise, they were self-involved and distinctly unmusical.
