I have yet to hear one good reason why kids must have smartphones.

Parents would save themselves a bunch of money as well as lots of anxiety by giving their kids dumb cell phones. A dumb cell phone will allow emergency communication without exposing the little tykes to all the evils mentioned above.

It maybe a little too controlling, but we installed the Apple Configurator and created profiles for our kids. We then installed the profile and that gives us a piece of mind that the kids can't download these apps such as kik or snapchat. I also showed them an app called Dr. Fone. With Dr. Fone I can recover most deleted items within the past 30 days. Showing them this program, and installing profiles created with Apple Configurator lets me and mama bear sleep easy at night.
