Shouldn't collaboration be easy? While you'll find lots of great collaboration apps, it's rare that one does everything. Before long, you end up with half a dozen apps that nobody can properly keep track of.

There's a better way, and Infolio is here to deliver it. Let's see how this collaboration tool rolls together the most important features without hassle.

Infolio Overview

Want to know how easy Infolio is? Head to the Infolio homepage and click the Try Without Registration button, and you'll load right into an example workspace.

This gives you a great look at everything Infolio offers at a glance. At its core, the service is a one-stop center for collaboration. This means that your team can gather notes, images, web links, contact information, files, and more all in one space.

Plus, Infolio integrates with popular services to help you tie everything together further. It's simple to use, but also quite powerful.

Now that we've seen the basics of what Infolio offers, let's go through the types of content you can work with.

Spaces

A Space in Infolio is a workspace for all your content. With the free account, you can create up to 20 Spaces. Each one can serve as a totally different collaboration area, allowing you to spread out your ideas.

Once you create an account and sign in, you'll see your list of Spaces. You can create a new one, starting with a template or create a blank space if you like. Right-clicking an existing Space lets you make a copy of it.

Conveniently, those you collaborate with in each of your Spaces are independent. Thus, you can invite someone to work with you on one Space and they won't be able to access your others.

Once you've opened a Space, you can add all sorts of content to it. Use the buttons at the top of the screen, or right-click on a blank spot, to access them.

Notes

Notes let you add basic text blocks, bullets, and numbered lists to your Space with a rich text editor.

Click Save to add the note to your Space. From there, you can drag it to another location or use the handle in the bottom-right corner to resize it. Double-clicking the note lets you open it and make changes if needed.

By dragging one note onto another, or right-clicking in the empty space and choosing New Note > Container, you can create a container. This allows you to combine several notes into one. Then, you can name the container, or double-click any of the notes inside to view them.

Tasks

Tasks allow you to create action items and assign them to team members. Click the Tasks button, and you'll get a new box where you can start adding items. After you've added some, mouse over it and you'll see an Assign button as well as a Due Date button.

Click Assign to let a team member know they're responsible for that task. You can choose Invite more people if you need to invite someone new. Likewise, select the Due icon to add a due date and time.

Labels, URLs, and Files

Labels are simple. They're large text blocks you can snap above other items in order to easily identify them. Add them wherever you think they'll prove useful for navigation.

URLs allow you to add links to websites right to your Space. This makes it easy to add references or other information you want your team to have handy.

Finally, the Files button lets you upload images, documents, and other files from your PC.

Cloud Content

To streamline collaboration even further, Infolio includes support for popular cloud services. Click the Content button at the top of the page to add integrations for Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Sharepoint, and more.

This allows you to easily add files from cloud storage into your Spaces. Drag and drop a file onto your Space--it's that easy!

Activity and Chatting

Click the Activity button in the top-right of any Space, and you can see recent changes from team members. The Chat function, located right next to it, lets you exchange messages with other users.

If you're the only user on a board, you'll need to click Invite People before you can use these. You can either use the email addresses for the people you want to invite, or copy a link to share anywhere.

Anyone can leave a comment on an element by opening it and using the comment box on the right side.

Infolio's iOS App

We've taken a look at Infolio's main features on the desktop, but the company also offers an app for iPhone and iPad users. It allows you to manage your Spaces on the go.

Download the app from the App Store, then sign into your account. Once logged in, use the Spaces tab on the bottom to open one of your Spaces. Of course, you don't have as much area to work with on your phone as on the web, but you can still open any files, notes, or links.

Click the Plus button to add a new note, task, or photo/file from your phone.

Also in the app, check the Conversations tab for the latest messages from your team. The Tasks tab helps you keep track of tasks you've been assigned or assigned to others. And you can keep an eye on your account in the Profile tab.
