Bargain hunters and fitness fanatics, listen up. IFTTT has been thinking about you lately and has been making channels for eBay and Fitbit to enable you to automate those bargain hunting and fitness skills.
New IFTTT channels are quite common these days as it seems they bring one out every few weeks. But these two are particularly useful if you use eBay and Fitbit.
The eBay channel allows you to set up some pretty nifty automations, one of which overlaps with what eBay already offers you (emails when something matching your search appears). But there are lots of others that you may like, and you don’t even need an eBay account to activate the channel.
The full list of eBay-related recipes is here. You can choose to have eBay-related information sent to you via email, iOS notification, SMS, Android notifications, and even Google Glass. The only downside is that it only seems to work with eBay USA. Which is bad luck if you happen to live outside the US and use a different eBay site.
The Fitbit one is extremely useful as it scoops up all of your stats and presents them to you in a variety of formats and automations. You can have your sleep stats sent to a Google spreadsheet, your steps collated for the week and sent to Evernote, a SMS sent if you are not meeting a target, and much more. If you are not already using a Fitbit to stay healthy, then I recommend that you do give them a try. They are extremely motivating. Mine is on my wrist 24/7.
So, are you a big eBayer or Fitbitter? Will you be taking advantage of these two new channels to further automate your life?
