HTML Map Creator: Add Multiple Links To A Single Image

Umar 07-10-2012

There are many websites which make areas of images clickable. Clicking on a different area takes you to a different URL in the same window or a new browser. You can now add such multiple links to your images by using a web tool entitled HTML Map Creator.

HTML Map Creator is a free to use web service that lets you add multiple links to an online image. You start by entering the direct URL of your image. Next you draw a rectangular region on the image; this area can be resized later. This region dictates the clickable area.

You can assign a link and an alternative link to this area; you also specify whether the link is opened in the same window or a new window. When you are finished you get an HTML map code and a CSS map code that you can copy and use on your website.

  • A user-friendly web service.
  • Lets you add multiple links to an image.
  • Clickable regions can be drawn as modifiable rectangles.
  • Generates HTML and CSS map codes for you to use.

Is there a website or app that I can use to make a sort of reverse of this??? What I would like to do is have a list of street names that when clicked on, will link to an image of a city map with the street or a portion of the image highlighted. It would help when giving directions to callers. Thanks.
