Have you ever deleted a photo by mistake on your iPhone or iPad? Luckily, if you’re running at least iOS 8, it’s actually very easy to recover deleted photos – as long as you do it within a certain amount of time.
Here’s how it works. If you’ve deleted a photo by mistake, navigate back to the main menu of your native Photo app, which has a lot more features you may be overlooking. You should see all the various albums you have in the Photo app, including one about halfway down the screen called “Recently Deleted”.
Tap the album and you’ll see a grid of all the photos that you have deleted in the past 30 days. You can either select multiple photos and tap the “Recover” button in the bottom right-hand corner or if you want to recover just one photo, you can open that photo up and tap the “Recover” button in the same spot.
If you wait more than 30 days, the photo can no longer be recovered.
