How to Delete Shows & Movies From Your Netflix History

Joel Lee 21-06-2016

The other day I ended up watching a few shows on Netflix that would embarrass me if anyone knew that I’d watched them. For the curious, it was a dedicated to baking cakes and other kinds of food porn.

I don’t want that show to pop up on my “Because you watch…” or “Continue watching…” lists on Netflix the next time my friends are over and we’re all gathered to watch a movie. If only there was a way to wipe those shows off my history…

…and it turns out there is!

The steps are surprisingly simple:

  • Log onto the Netflix website.
  • At the top right, navigate to Your Account.
  • In the My Profile section, click Viewing Activity.
  • Now you can click the X next to any episode or movie to delete it from your watch history.

Unfortunately there’s no way to clear the entire list at once.

I found this out a while back when I found that my daughter had "accidentally" watched My Little Pony on my profile. I didn't want "Because you watched My Little Pony" showing up and ruining my 2 years worth of training Netflix to what I like and what I don't.

If you're watching certain shows and not others just to look cool you've got bigger problems than some cake programs in your history, dude.
