How to Create Free Professional Newsletters in Minutes

Nancy Messieh 17-08-2016

There are a lot of free options available to anyone who wants to create a professional looking newsletter. Few are as easy to use as eLink. With a free and premium version of the service, eLink makes it extremely easy to put together a beautifully designed newsletter promoting online content in a matter of minutes.

With the free version of eLink, your page is embeddable and you can share the link with anyone, but in order to send it as a newsletter, you will have to upgrade to the pro version for $15 a month. You will then be able to send your newsletters using Gmail or MailChimp.

Another significant difference between the free and paid versions is a banner at the bottom of your newsletter promoting eLink. Both the free and paid versions, however, get you unlimited newsletters.

All you need to do is prepare the links you want to promote in your newsletter. If there are images already associated with those links, eLink will use them. If not, you will want to also prepare some nice photos to go with your content.

Once you have your links and images ready, it’s a matter of following a few simple steps.

Step 1

First, choose the layout you want to use for your newsletter. There are eight options to choose from.

Step 2

Then you will want to start pasting your links. eLink does provide a Chrome extension that aims to make this process a little easier.

Step 3

When you’ve entered your link, you can drag your image around to get the perfect crop. You can also edit the title and description auto-generated from your link. If you prefer to use a different image, or don’t have an image associated with your content, you can upload it here.

Once you hit the save button, you should be able to view a preview of your newsletter. Repeat Step 3 until you’ve included all of your links.

Step 4

After you’ve added all of your links, click the Header tab so you can select your header. You have the option of uploading an image, or using a text-only header.

Step 5

Click on the Profile tab to personalize your newsletter. You can add a photo, a tagline, and three links. When you enter social media links, eLink will automatically include that social network’s logo. The name that you used when signing up for eLink will appear here as well.

Step 6

Once you’re done you can publish your newsletter and share it. If you’re not ready to share it, you can return to the homepage and your newsletter should be automatically saved.

If you’re ready to publish, just go to the Publish tab, and give your newsletter a name (viewable only to you) so that you can view analytics in your eLink dashboard. You can also add tags if you want to make it easy to search your newsletters in eLink, as well as choose whether or not you make the online version of your newsletter search engine friendly.

Once your newsletter is published, you can share the link with anyone you want or embed it. While you can’t unpublish a newsletter, you can simply delete it by hitting the little grey x in your dashboard.

Throughout the process, you can go to previous steps to adjust your settings. This is particularly useful if you want to see how your content looks with each layout option.

Very helpful article! I was looking for an option to send "The best of my Inbox this week" and was trying to figure out the best way to share it with my readers. I will definitely try this, looks like what I was looking for :)
