No matter how you prefer to listen to music on Windows, you have an awesome solution. If you often work with MP3s and have a huge collection, free music players can do all you need . Of course, many people choose to use a streaming service like Spotify or Google Play Music where you can listen to all the music you want for a low monthly fee.
One of the music services you may have overlooked, however, is Microsoft’s Groove Music. Groove is the default music player in Windows 10 and is often unfairly criticized given its neat feature-set. You can manage and play local files inside Groove, but Microsoft also offers a Groove Music Pass to rival other streaming services.
It costs a standard $10 per month and allows you unlimited, ad-free access to millions of songs using apps for Windows, Xbox, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and the web.
But there’s a bonus to sweeten the deal if you act quickly. Between now and June 30, Microsoft is offering a $25 gift credit for the Windows Store if you subscribe to a Groove Music Pass for a year. This credit allows you to buy apps, games, movies, and more from the Windows Store. If there’s a game you’ve been considering, or a premium app that you just couldn’t justify the cost for, this is a good chance to offset that cost.
Of course, credit on the Windows Store won’t be useful for everyone. But if you don’t already subscribe to a premium streaming service, this is a nice incentive to get started with Groove Music.
