Getting out of bed in the morning can be tough. Especially if you need an alarm to wake you up. And the alarm you choose to wake you up can have a massive impact on your mood for the rest of the day. Or at least until you get some coffee down you.

In August 2018, Google's Clock app added support for Spotify. This meant you could change the alarm on your Android device to any song available to stream on Spotify. And now the Google Clock app supports Pandora and YouTube Music as well.

Wake Up to Pandora or YouTube Music

Android users can now connect Pandora or YouTube Music to the Clock app on their phone. Which means opening up the alarms available to them from a handful of default tunes to every song available on their music streaming service of choice.

To connect Pandora or YouTube Music to the Google Clock app you'll need to update the latter to version 6.1 or later. It's also advisable to have the latest version of Pandora or YouTube Music (or Spotify) installed too. Then, just do the following:

  1. Open the Clock app.
  2. Click on the Alarm tab.
  3. Select the Bell symbol.
  4. Choose Spotify, Pandora, or YouTube Music.
  5. Choose a song, album, playlist, or radio station.

When the alarm you've set goes off, the music you've selected will fill your ears, rousing you from sleep. Unlike a regular alarm, which most of us want to silence as quickly as possible, you can carry on listening until you're ready to throw back the duvet.

Helping You Face the Day With a Smile

Having the option to choose streaming music as your alarm isn't going to change your life in any meaningful way. However, it might make it easier to get out of bed in the morning, and put you in a better mood to face the day. Which isn't to be sneezed at.
