Remasters and re-releases are common these days. While some claim that these are a waste of time or cash grabs, some remastered titles are better than the originals. They can also let people who missed out on the original game experience the best version.
While not technically a remaster, Supergiant Games’ first game, Bastion, will be coming to Xbox One on December 12. Bastion originally released on the Xbox 360 over five years ago, so this is a natural progression for the title. What’s more, anyone who owns Bastion on Xbox 360 is eligible to get it for free on Xbox One for a limited time.
If you download the game on Xbox One before January 1, 2017, you can skip the $15 price tag and experience Bastion again. This version will include higher resolution graphics and DLC that wasn’t included in the original.
Bastion is a fantastic action game with RPG elements. It centers around the journey of “The Kid,” who travels around a destroyed world to rebuild a hub known as the Bastion. It’s unique in that a narrator discusses your actions and the plot throughout the entire game.
This is the perfect time to re-experience the adventure if you haven’t played it for a few years. If you bought the game on sale years ago and haven’t got around to playing it yet, now you can break out a buffed-up version on your Xbox One.
Even if you’re not interested in playing Bastion, you should still take a listen to its fantastic soundtrack.
