I imagine most people don't use PDF format just to email a 'hello'? In my case, I scan and store my financial, tax, legal, etc. docs in PDF form and password protect them. NO WAY would I upload any of these to anywhere in the 'cloud' to decrypt, edit, rearrange, merge, delete, etc.

Much better to do your work locally - with local encryption. Then, you can upload them to the cloud for additional, offsite storage - and wider access (if needed).
