As the end of summer draws near, it’s time for another round of games for PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Let’s take a look at what you’ll be playing this month.
Hot off the announcement that PS Plus will be increasing in price this September, Sony’s new games for September are being better received than the past few months.
On PS4, the standout this month is Journey, the acclaimed adventure game with an excellent soundtrack. PS4 owners also receive Lords of the Fallen, an action RPG set in medieval times.
Those on PS3 will get Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, an entry in Ubisoft’s action-adventure series, as well as Datura, an adventure game where you’re left alone in a forest.
Finally, Vita owners will receive Badland, an award-winning artistic action platformer, as well as Amnesia: Memories, an adventure game where you have no memory and must choose a romantic path. The latter game has no connection with the Amnesia series of horror games.
Cross-buy is enabled on two of these titles; Journey is available on PS3, and Badland is available on all three systems.
Free to download for Xbox One this month are Earthlock: Festival of Magic and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China. The former is a turn-based fantasy RPG, while the latter is a 2.5D stealth platformer spin-off of the main series.
For Xbox 360 as well as Xbox One owners, Forza Horizon, a racing game, and Mirror’s Edge, the parkour action game that recently received a sequel, will be free this month.
PlayStation players, do you feel that these games justify the price increase? What do you think of this month’s titles overall? Let us know!
