Free Games for PS Plus & Xbox Live in May 2017

PlayStation Plus

On PS4, gamers will receive Tales from the Borderlands, an episodic narrative adventure from TellTale games that takes place in the Borderlands universe. Got a PS3? Look for Blood Knights, a generic hack and slash game that released to mixed reviews. You’ll also receive Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants, a business simulation that takes place in the 1500-1600s Caribbean.

Finally, those with a Vita can download Laser Disco Defenders, a retro sci-fi bullet hell shooter. The other Vita title is Type:Rider, an adventure puzzle game that takes you through the history of typography.

Both PS Vita games are also available on PS4 thanks to Cross-Buy.

Xbox Live

On the Xbox One, you can download Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Director’s Cut, a platformer where you must regularly switch between two worlds to proceed. You’ll also receive Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, the action-adventure sequel to Guardian of Light.


Those with an Xbox 360 can download two Star Wars games this month. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is an action-adventure platformer where you control a clone of the first game’s protagonist. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga lets you play through all six original films in LEGO form.

Remember that the Xbox 360 games are backwards-compatible and also work on Xbox One.
