It's time for the final free games of 2017 for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscribers. 2017 has been a great year for games, and December will bring a few more freebies to close out the year!

PlayStation Plus

First up, on PS4, you can grab Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition. This is a remaster of the second game in the action-adventure Darksiders series, where you play as one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

The other PS4 title is Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends. It's basically a cheap movie tie-in clone of Super Smash Bros. It's the kind of game you find in the bargain bin for $5 at Walmart -- we're not sure why Sony chose it.

PS3 players will receive Syberia Collection, a pack of two classic point-and-click adventure games. Also on PS3 is XBlaze Lost: Memories, a visual novel game that's a sequel to XBlaze Code: Embryo.

Finally, PS Vita owners (also on PS4 thanks to Cross-Buy) can download Forma.8, a Metroidvania game with no story and gorgeous visuals. Second is Wanted Corp., a mediocre top-down action game.

Don't forget that the PS VR game Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is also free for PS Plus members until January 2.

Xbox Live

Xbox One owners can first download Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide. It's a co-op combat adventure set in the fantasy world of Warhammer. Also on Xbox One is Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition. Like other Telltale games, this is a point-and-click story-driven adventure.

On Xbox 360, Child of Eden, a rhythm-action game from the same mind as Rez, is free this month. The other Xbox 360 title is Marlow Briggs and the Mask of the Death, a God of War-style hack and slash game that's reminiscent of an 80s action movie.
