Spotlight's great for local searches, but Found brings a new method of information retrieval that keeps up with your cloud-based life. The free app for Mac is your ultimate search resource, and although feature-heavy, it's incredibly simple to use.

The app uses a pop-up window which comes out from the side of your screen, allowing you to – as expected – type in search inquiries. Results come up lightning-fast, and you can preview files right away whether they be images, documents, or even video. This handy feature is a nice plus when you are searching on the go.

However, this is how Found shines out from the rest. The app connects you to your services like SkyDrive, Google Drive, Google Docs, Evernote, Dropbox, Gmail, etc., so you can search across them. If you're like every other tech user in the world, you likely have files scattered all across these services, and it can be a headache to remember where you left them.

All in all, Found is a fantastic app for those of us who can be a bit scattered-brained and can't remember where we left our things. Unfortunately, the app doesn't help with items like your car keys or your wallet, but I'm sure if Found was able to search for physical objects, it would do an outstanding job of doing so.

Should you download this app? Absolutely. It's clean, fast, useful, and fun. Found is the best app for finding anything that you need.

Features:

  • Lightning fast search results.
  • In-app preview for all files.
  • Connects to your cloud-based services.
  • Clean and easy to use.
