It is my opinion that most smartwatches (or smartwatch concepts) try too hard to impress. In some of the concept designs I’ve seen 5 Smartwatch Concept Designs You Will Want! 5 Smartwatch Concept Designs You Will Want! Sick of waiting for Apple's smartwatch to debut? Not sure if it'll even happen? If the Pebble isn't "smart" enough for you, then perhaps these 5 smartwatch concept designs will get your blood pumping again. Read More , the classic design of a wristwatch isn’t even recognisable anymore. Is it a watch or just some device you happen to wear on your wrist? Thankfully, there are still designers like Gábor Balogh from Budapest, Hungary, who still appreciate the craftsmanship behind wristwatches and strive to retain the traditional values and design of a watch.

This is the smartwatch concept design he came up with. Now, take my money!

Smartwatches: For when you just can't be bloody arsed to look all the way down to your hand where you're holding your phone. Ridiculous things.

I agree, attractive design. Also agree, there is a need to go beyond duplicating what the also-at-hand smartphone can do (possibly better) and consider what capabilities are better found on the wrist watch (better there than on the smartphone). Ponder that!

You bet I'd buy this! As Rob H pointed out, power source and re-charging frequency could be an issue, but I'd still buy this in a heartbeat! If it does get to Kickstarter phase, PLEASE let us all know so we can get in on it BEFORE subscriptions are sold out.

It's a great PHYSICAL design, especially when compared to others I've seen in the marketplace.

Yes visually very appealing but it is a design concept not a real product. There is an opportunity for a major rethink of watch design in view of advances in electronics but all the focus at present seems to be leading to devices that duplicate what the paired mobile phone is offering and end up being very power-hungry and large. One solution to the power issue is to pair the watch with a well designed bedside power dock and if the same dock also powers the paired 'phone, even better.
Another solution is to drastically reduce the power requirements. My current watch (digital with a decent bunch of features like alarms, backlight, compass, stopwatch hasn't asked for a new battery yet - 5 years). Power is needed by display, processor and bluetooth link to mobile. So consider low power display such as e-Ink or sticking to monochrome. Only put minimal services into the watch remembering that the mobile phone is at hand and better equipped for most tasks. Only duplicate function where there is real and cost effective end-user benefit. Minimise bluetooth usage by just polling the 'phone every few minutes (plus on-demand).

oh now that is one stylish watch. If you ever need a volunteer to test this baby out I am willing to sacrifice my time and efforts.. Of course I am only thinking about user safety. Ya pretty lame that is all I could come up with.
