Family Watchdog : Sex Offender Registry

Aibek Esengulov 24-02-2008

A while ago MakeUseOf profiled Felonspy, a website we believed that aimed to help people find convicted felons residing in the neighborhood areas. After a number of comments it became clear that the website was bogus and full of crap.

This time we would like to introduce to you Family Watchdog: a national sex offender registry where you can search for nearby sex offenders and get a map view of their adresses.

Important: Harassing anyone on the offender registry database is a misdemeanor and can be punished both by a fine and jail time.

Family Watchdog

  • Lookup sex offenders by name or search by location (US only).
  • Get map view of registered nearby offenders, see their photos, distance from your zipcode, exact addresses and conviction details.

Family watchdog should be a free site since criminal history is public knowledge and people shouldn't have to pay to get access to criminal checks or sex offender checks how are we supposed to keep our families safe when most people live on fixed incomes and have no money to pay for these sites to show us the information you advertise free but when we go to look it isn't
