Facebook Is Hiding Messages From You — Access Them Now
Facebook messaging is one of many free messaging services , but it’s popular due to its ubiquity — chances are a lot of people you want to talk to use Facebook, so it doesn’t require a lot of extra setup. However, while you might have plenty of messages from friends in your inbox, there’s a darker side to your Facebook inbox.
Most people probably know that your messages on Facebook are divided into two sections: your regular inbox where messages from your friends are, and Message Requests from people who you aren’t connected with but are legitimate. To make sure you see both of these, visit the full Messages page on Facebook.
Next to Message Requests, you’ll see a More drop-down option. You’ll find options to view only Unread messages here, as well as Archived conversations (usually group chats you left).
The interesting option, however, is Filtered. Choosing this brings you to a second inbox that likely contains messages from spammers, scams, or other nonsense.
You might be surprised by how recent these are. My two newest filtered messages were from February 2016. It’s possible that a message from someone you know could end up here, albeit very unlikely.
I tried out the "secret messages" folder thing on Facebook and this is probably why I don't use Facebook pic.twitter.com/rXskHboDDj

Remember that Facebook scams are all over the place and often come from messages, so don’t entertain any malicious folk who messaged you here. Checking these can provide a few minutes of entertainment if you get a kick out of this sort of thing, though.
