Facebook Wants to Help You Find a New Job

Facebook wants to be much more than just a social network. And today it wants to be LinkedIn. Or at least a viable alternative to LinkedIn. Facebook wants to help you find a new job, being the middleman between you and the business you want to work for.


In 2017, Facebook introduced job listings in the U.S. and Canada. And, according to Facebook, this has proved popular with both businesses and jobseekers. Now, Facebook is expanding its job listings to cover more than 40 countries around the world.

How Facebook’s New Job Listings Work

For individuals, Facebook offers several ways to find a new job. There’s the Jobs dashboard located at, the Jobs option under Explore on mobile, the Jobs icon in Marketplace, and the Jobs tab on a particular business’ page.

If you find a job you’re interested in you can create an application, adding information already listed on your Facebook profile. You can then converse with the business directly using Messenger, and subscribe to receive notifications about other jobs of that type.
