Amazon's Echo can do so much through its library of skills that it's easy to forget that it has lots of neat functionality built right in. If you order a lot from Amazon, it's handy to know when a package you've ordered is coming your way, right? By flipping a quick setting, you can have Alexa tell you when a package was marked for delivery.

No matter which Echo you have, open the Alexa app on your phone and slide out the left menu. Select Settings and then tap the Notifications entry. At this time, there's only one selection in this menu, so tap Shopping Notifications. Again, you'll find a single toggle: Shipment Notifications via Alexa. Turn this on, and you're all set.

Now, whenever an incoming package is out for delivery (meaning it should arrive at your house today), your Echo will light up yellow-green to show you have a notification. Say "Alexa, read my notifications" and your Echo will let you know which item is incoming.

Even if your package isn't out for delivery, you can still say "Alexa, when will my order arrive?" at any time to check the status of your recent orders.
