DigitalQuick is a free to use website that helps computer users keep their files encrypted on their computers. The application is of great use to people who want to secure their sensitive data on their computers and possibly share it with others online.
You start by signing up for the application and then downloading the Windows client that is sized at nearly 15 MB. You can get the smartphone applications too that comes for iOS as well as Android. The computer application creates lets you create encrypted folders in which you can place your files to keep them secure. These folders can be accessed through the app’s System Tray icon.
A “Basic File Encryption” folder lets you encrypt files and then decrypt when you need to edit them. But then there is an “Advanced Document Protection” level that lets you edit encrypted files of supported formats such as DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX. The application also supports files sharing with online friends if you connect your Dropbox account with the site.
You can then set permissions for your online files uploaded through DigitalQuick for other site users. To control which people to share your files with, simply access the Members List for a particular file or folder.
The online interface features an easily navigable structure and the folder history shows you when the folder was accessed and changed.
