How to Delete Your Gmail Account

  1. Log in to your Google Account.
  2. In the left-hand panel, click on Account Preferences.
  3. Scroll down to Delete your account or services.
  4. Click on Delete products.
  5. Select the trash can icon alongside Gmail.
  6. When prompted, enter your password.
  7. Await the confirmation email.
  8. Click on the Delete Gmail link in the email.
  9. Choose Yes, I want to delete [address]
  10. Click on Delete Gmail. (Important: You cannot undo this step!)
  11. Finally, click Done.

Warning: Before deleting your Gmail account, make sure you update any services and apps which have your old address on file. Once removed, the same address cannot be used by you nor anyone else in the future. The deletion process cannot be undone.
