ContactPrivacy: Know When An App Is Accessing Your Contacts List [iOS]
Third party applications do a lot of things you would prefer them not to do. For instance, recently an application called Path was discovered to be accessing the contacts list in iOS devices and transmitting the information to its server. Such access is something users would prefer to be aware of. If you have a jailbroken device, you can be notified of such access by apps, thanks to a tool called ContactPrivacy.
ContactPrivacy is a free to use iOS app for jailbroken devices. The app is sized at 4 KB download and 14 KB installed. With it installed you are notified each time when an application tries accessing your contacts list. You can then choose to grant or deny access to that particular application – see the image above for an example.
- A user-friendly phone.
- Compatible with jailbroken iOS devices.
- Notifies when apps access your contact list.
- Lets you grant or deny contact list access to apps.
