Ever copied something on your Mac and wished for an easy way to simply retrieve it on your iPhone? It might be a while before Apple implements the feature (or it might not, we just don’t know) but in the meantime CloudClip has two apps that accomplish this very task, storing your clips in the cloud for easy retrieval on an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. CloudClip Manager runs on your Mac and stores a list of copied text which you can then share between your devices.
It then syncs via iCloud, keeping your other Mac computers and Apple devices up-to-date. The app also performs the less impressive task of keeping track of your past copies, allowing you to retrieve old snips that would otherwise be lost. Once the service is up and running on your Mac you can download the CloudClip iOS app and launch it to retrieve your clipboard data.
The service requires that you have created an iCloud account which you are using on the devices you would like to use with CloudClip. Both apps are free, and the iOS app works in much the same way – copy a portion of text, open the CloudClip iOS app which then syncs with iCloud, making the data available on your Mac. It’s copy and paste for the cloud!
- Sync copied text between your Mac computers and iOS devices.
- Uses (and requires) iCloud, so no need to register another account.
- iOS app allows you to share your iOS clipboard too.
