ROFL 31-10-2014

What you wear says a lot about who you are. Joe, as a frequent interviewer, my comment is if you don't mind not getting the job because you came across a little funky to non-funky interviewers, then, by all means, be as funky as you like.

Why would Joe - or anyone with a creative personality (or indeed any personality) want a job with a company looking only for total conformists/cookie-cutter people?

You only need one job - be yourself and hold out for the one which fits you and the company you fit.

I agree with this - to an extent. It's important to look smart, for sure, but not being able to show personality in a suit/dress doesn't make sense to me. Be trendy! Why not? Being conservative in your outfit can be dull after a while. In my eyes there's nothing wrong with dressing a bit funky, while still being smart, if that's your style.
