Method 1: Make a New Snapchat Account

Method 2: Change Your Display Name

In addition to your username, Snapchat also lets you choose a display name. You can change your display name as often as you like, and it will be visible to both your existing contacts and any new users you add. To change your display name, follow the steps below:

  1. Tap the Gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the app.
  2. Choose My Account.
  3. Tap on Name.
  4. Enter your new preferred display name.
  5. Hit Save.

Your new name will be instantly visible across the Snapchat network, and it will show up in search results when other people look for it.

    First, I run Linux. These scammers barely know how to *pronounce* Linux, let alone spell it, because they're looking for MS Windows users. Since I also happen to know both MS Windows and Mac OS pretty well--I'm an IT engineer--sure, I'd string 'em along. Absolutely. I'd dangle 'em on a string playing dumb until *they* terminated the call out of frustration.

    Go right ahead. It helps that the only phone I have is my cell phone, and it's not in the same area code in which I currently live. Gotta love mobility.
