Netflix has a lot of little-known features, like its hidden categories and saving content to an SD card, but another one that you probably aren’t aware of is the ability to change the appearance of its subtitles.
Click on your profile picture and go to My Account > Subtitle Appearance. From there you can change the font, color, shadow, and background.
The selection is limited to seven fonts, including a typewriter font, a cursive font, small caps, and even a font that is very reminiscent of Comic Sans. A few of them are harder to read than the default so they may not be ideal for you, but if you want to try something a little different, Netflix certainly provides options.
When you change the settings in your profile on Netflix, you should see the change across all of your devices. Luckily, it’s a profile-specific feature, so even if you change your subtitle appearance, other friends of family members who share your Netflix account shouldn’t be affected.
What do you think of Netflix’s customized subtitles? A fun novelty or a pointless feature? Let us know in the comments.
