Almost all brands have a social media presence. Unfortunately, the vast majority of brands simply aren't worth following on social media.

However, some brands have turned social media into an art form. With funny content, witty ripostes, and educational material, these are the brands that stand out from the crowd.

In this article, we list the brands doing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube right. So right, in fact, we think they're worth following on social media.

1. Wendy's

The Wendy's profile on Twitter is a joy to behold. In fact, we would go as far as to say that it's one of the best accounts on the entire platform.

Wendy's has developed a reputation for its hilarious roasting of other brands and scathing put-downs of regular users.

Check out this scathing response to Burger King's attempted baiting:

Or what about this brilliant response to a customer who wrongly assumed that all the company's beef was frozen:

The lesson? Don't cross Wendy's social media team.

2. Charmin

Another one of the sharpest brand accounts on Twitter belongs to Charmin. The toilet paper company uses a healthy dose of comedy to bring smiles to the faces of its followers.

The brand is also renowned for a few viral marketing campaigns. One of the most famous saw Times Square performer, The Naked Cowboy, distribute 20,000 free rolls to passers-by in order to celebrate "National Toilet Paper Day " (yes, that really is a thing) on August 26, 2014.

3. Netflix

Netflix's Twitter feed is full of useful tips about what to watch on the platform, but it's on Facebook where the company has the most followers.

The Netflix Facebook pages are sub-divided into region-specific content, which means the recommendations you're seeing are always available in your area.

In the U.S., the Netflix page is a mix of clips, GIFs, images, and articles, all of which have a link to the currently-available TV shows and movies. There's also a fair amount of behind-the-scenes footage, which die-hard fans will love.

4. KFC

Wendy's has a rival in the battle to be the most entertaining fast food chain on social media. KFC is equally sassy.

Follow the Twitter account, and you'll be able to enjoy a neverending stream of jokes, roasts, and insults.

KFC is also an ongoing battle with the other major fast food brands in a bid to gain the upper-hand across social media. The consequences are frequently side-splitting.

5. Oreo

There's a worrying trend of the best brands on social media also being the ones that are the worst for your health (the trend is set to continue, trust us!).

The latest entry is Oreo. As expected, there's plenty of action across all its social media channels, but its standout account is on Instagram.

It boasts Oreo-themed artwork, cooking ideas, and jokes, all of which have helped the company amass millions of Instagram followers.

6. Taco Bell

Yet another fast food company. It seems that once one fast food brand turns on its social media banter, all the others have to get involved as well so they don't get left behind.

One of Taco Bell's most famous early exchanges was with Old Spice. In recent times, the brand earned a major viral win by sending various pieces of branded jewelry and hand-written notes to several models, actresses, musicians, and other celebrities.

Here's how Chrissy Teigen reacted on Instagram after receiving her own special trinket:

7. Old Spice

Old Spice has a great social media presence.

The YouTube channel is an enjoyable watch; the company frequently posts its funny TV ads there for everyone to see, including this classic from 2010:

It shows just how long Old Spice has been active on social media platforms. It was way ahead of the curve in many ways.

Oh, and what about that clash with Taco Bell that we mentioned? Well, here it is:

8. Skittles

If you want one-liners, check out the Skittles Twitter feed. There's a steady stream of brilliant jokes to enjoy, very few of which have anything to do with the tasty little candies we all love so dearly.

For example, check out this tweet about the dinosaurs:

Or what about this perceptive insight on the ability of snails to win moonwalking competitions:

There's also plenty of image- and video-based funnies, including this Christmas gift wrapping idea:

9. MoonPie

Not to be outdone by Oreo, MoonPie also has a few social media accounts that are worth following.

In its previous form, the MoonPie accounts were pretty ordinary, but in 2017 the company changed its strategy and found its social media voice.

By the end of the year, it was well established as a brand worth following on social media.

To get a taste of what you can expect, check out the way it responded to Hostess Snacks' claims about the eclipse:

If you want to see some of the most beautiful LEGO creations in the world, follow the company on Instagram. There are huge LEGO constructions (including cars and guitars), flashbacks to older LEGO sets, behind-the-scenes information, and plenty more.

The account occasionally even posts users' own creations, so make sure you send in your submissions if you're a LEGO addict.
