I have a Dyson model similar to the one here, except with a heating function. It's way too noisy! Cannot use it in the bedroom while sleeping - it's louder than my CPAP machine. Plus it makes an annoying clicking sound when it changes direction, so I usually end up not using the oscillation function. My 30-year old Panasonic (National) oscillating fan is so MUCH quieter and pushes much more volume. Plus it is height adjustable unlike the Dyson. The Dyson is prettier, sleeker, and has a remote control - but it is not quiet or robust.
