Whether your project is in the planning phase or already underway, presenting it in an elegant fashion is easy with Microsoft PowerPoint slides. We have compiled a collection of useful templates that allow you to quickly enter your details and show off your project in a visually stimulating way.
Note that if you are using PowerPoint 2016, you already have access to several useful project templates. Go to File and then select New to open the template section. Type in the word Project and your results will be displayed. You’ll find the highlights under points six and seven.
If you’re using an older version of PowerPoint, consider the downloadable templates in the first five categories.
1. All-Inclusive Project Template
If you are putting together a business plan slideshow that needs to include a project scope, objective, deliverables, resources, and risk management, then the PowerPoint template directly from Microsoft Office is a wonderful, all-encompassing tool.
The template offers a nice widescreen view with 14 slides to customize. You can change the colors, choose a new font, insert images, and add links, just like with any other slide show in PowerPoint. But, it can certainly be used as-is.
With bulleted text, helpful diagrams, and beneficial graphs, this template is a visually attractive as well as useful for any sized project.
2. Gantt Chart Template
For a nice-looking and helpful Gantt chart template for PowerPoint, SlideHunter is a good resource. You can download the template by either creating a free account or sharing their website via social media. The Gantt chart template has a clean layout and is useful for small projects.
The template also includes a basic timeline chart which is, of course, fully customizable. You can adjust colors and fonts as needed. One item to note, the SlideHunter logo is part of the template.
3. Project Plan Template
While most professional projects are managed with specific plan software such as Microsoft Project, this PowerPoint template works well for smaller projects and those that you must provide a status on frequently.
This template also comes from SlideHunter and gives an easy-to-read overview of the project plan. It includes the tasks, start and end dates, resources, a status, and comments. So, for a quick and simple project plan template, this one is useful.
4. Project Management Triangle Template
Another handy template for managing projects from SlideHunter provides two different slides for a project management triangle. Both are useful for quick overviews of the major parts of your project.
The template comes with time, scope, cost, and quality as the indicators; however, these can be changed to fit your project.
5. Timeline Templates
If you are looking for simple yet attractive timeline templates, Office Timeline provides several nice choices. The templates are easily editable and offer great views of the milestones for any project. They are available in both standard and widescreen to suit your needs.
The basic milestone chart template allows you to view the project milestones by week. This is a good option for a quick glance at the project. If you need a little more detail, such as specific dates within a quarter along with phases of the project, then Office Timeline has you covered with a project timeline template.
An additional feature offered by Office Timeline, which may be helpful if you update your documents often, is their free Timeline Maker. This downloadable tool allows you to update your timelines automatically, rather than manually, for added convenience.
6. Project Overview Templates
To start your project off right when presenting it to an audience, we recommend these two templates that you’ll find within PowerPoint 2016. With simple, yet lovely backgrounds and formats, each of these gives you the necessary slides to enter your project details. You can also edit the colors and fonts if you like.
For a project overview template with some pizzazz, here is one that offers nice contrasting colors with charts and diagrams for an excellent visual. The information included is the same as in template above, but it is displayed in a different style.
7. Project Status Report Templates
Whether you are presenting your project to a small team or a large executive audience, the project status report templates within PowerPoint 2016 are terrific visual tools.
This handsome template includes slides for project status, issues and resolutions, a basic timeline, and resources. From a description and goals to an analysis and list of related documents, this is a useful choice.
For those projects that may not require an extensive timeline or chart, a text-based template accomplishes the goal of presenting your project status. With slides for a summary, schedule, costs, resources, and goals, all in bulleted lists, this is a solid option.
You will find the above templates inside PowerPoint 2016, as described in the introduction.
Stylish Project Presentations
While Microsoft PowerPoint is not normally the tool of choice for in-depth project management, it is certainly a great pick for presenting the details. With very little work involved, these templates can provide your audience all of the information they need about your project. And there are many more cool presentation templates to choose from! You can even improve the looks of these templates with free, professional-looking Google fonts.
Will you have to plug your presentation into someone else’s computer? Convert the presentation to PDF to make sure it’s compatible and to conserve the formatting. It might tamper with animations, but it’s a great backup to have.
