Thanksgiving approaches faster than a turkey running away from the chopping block. Or that sense of foreboding that goes hand in hand with familial visits. With it comes Black Friday for unbelievable deals. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or holiday shopping for friends and family, these are the best Black Friday deals around.
Note: Some of these deals won’t be available until Black Friday begins at 12am EST on November 24, 2017.
LG 49-Inch 4K LED UHD Smart TV ($400 at Kohl’s) [No Longer Available]
Kohl’s may not rank among the most well-known electronics retailers like Best Buy. Nevertheless, Kohl’s will offer many of Black Friday 2017’s top deals. The LG 49UJ6300 smart TV features an IPS panel, webOS Smart Platform, and 2160P resolution. Plus, there’s HDR. The LG 49UJ6300 retails for a regular price of $700, so its discounted price of $400 is an incredible value. Additionally, Kohl’s offers a promotion where consumers gain $15 in Kohl’s cash for each $50 spent. As such, the LG affords $120 in Kohl’s cash for a net price of $280. It’s tough to beat that price for an HDR 4K IPS panel.
Alternatively, Kohl’s also sells the Haier 55-inch 4K LED. It’s a 4K Ultra HD LED with 120 Hz refresh rate, four HDMI inputs, and a large 55-inch screen. At $300 plus $90 back in Kohl’s cash for a net price of $210, it’s a solid deal. But the LG, despite its smaller screen real estate, boasts HDR which makes it a better choice. Over at Best Buy, there’s a 39-inch Insignia panel on sale for $179, down from $279. While it’s only a 1080p set, not 4K, that’s a ridiculous deal for a TV of this size.
Google Home Mini ($49 at Target)
Expect massive discounts on smart home gadgets, like the Amazon Echo or Google Home Mini (best personal assistant). On Black Friday, Target will discount the Google Home Mini to $29, down from its regular price of $49. On top of that, the Home Mini comes with a $10 Target gift card, lowering the price to a net of $19. You can’t beat this price for an affordable smart assistant.
Aside from the Google Home Mini, Target discounts several smart home speakers and hubs. You’ll also find the Amazon Echo for $80 and the Echo Show for $180, both all-time low prices. Best Buy also lowers the price of the Google Home Mini to $29 and throws in a $10 Best Buy gift card (with purchase). Debating purchasing a Google Home device? Learn more about Google Home.
Roku Premiere+ ($50 at Best Buy) [No Longer Available]
Streaming is all the rage, and while the Nvidia Shield TV is the best Android TV box, the Roku reigns supreme. Roku’s market share continues to outstrip that of competitors such as Apple. The Roku Premiere+ is the Roku set-top box to buy. It sports 4K capabilities and includes an Ethernet port. If you’re streaming in 4K, you’ll want to use a hardwired connection rather than Wi-Fi. The Premiere+ is one of the best Plex client devices available, and general streaming boxes as well. Rather than a smart TV, grab a Roku.
SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit [Broken Link Removed] ($150 at JC Penney)
Protecting your home is vital. Where once home security systems were expensive and cumbersome, now they’re deceptively simple to set up. Among the top choices, the SmartThings home monitoring kit is an excellent value. For Black Friday, JC Penney lowers the price to $150.
Oculus Rift + Touch VR Headset ($350 at Best Buy)
In summer of 2017, the Oculus Rift (our Oculus review) saw a discount to $400. For Black Friday, the Rift gets an all-time low $350 package. It’s the best deal yet on a VR headset. However, you’ll want to consider upgrading your rig if you’re going in on an Oculus. Since its $400 bundle was a supreme value, the $350 is a must-have for anyone keen on virtual reality gaming.
Want to make a gaming upgrade for a bit less? Check out the PlayStation 4 1 TB console for $199, also at Best Buy. This shouldn’t require any upgrades aside from purchasing games, unless you don’t have a television or monitor.
Dell 27-Inch Gaming Monitor S2716DG ($400 at Dell)
Gaming isn’t merely about having the best graphics card. An amazing GPU is lacking without an equally as incredible display. Dell’s S2716DG plummets in price to a mere $400. This 27-inch monitor might not be an ultrawide panel, but it’s a stunning monitor with a 144 Hz refresh rate, HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, and four USB 3.0 ports. Onboard, there’s Nvidia G-Sync and a QHD resolution for lush detail.
DJI Mavic Pro Aerial Camera Bundle ($900 at CostCo) [No Longer Available]
When it comes to drones, the DJI Mavic Pro is among the best available. And come Black Friday, Costco will chop off $100 of its price. At $900, you get a DJI Mavic Pro drone, aerial camera, controller, battery charger, backpack, propeller guards, and a 16GB microSD card. It’s capable of shooting 4K video at 30 frames per second. If you’re in the market for a drone, this is the package to snag.
Although the iPhone X, 8, and 8 Plus are superb devices, better phones for the money are available. As such, the iPhone SE is arguably the best Black Friday phone deal for Apple buffs. Its’s one of the best phones among Apple gadgets. The SE is essentially an iPhone 6 crammed into the form factor of an iPhone 5. For Black Friday, Target cuts the price to $100, which is $60 less than its normal retail value. This is the 32GB variant, but for a no-contract phone this is one of the top mobile deals you’ll find. Alternately, check out the Moto G5Ss on sale for $225 unlocked from Best Buy.
JBL Charge 3 ($90 at Macy’s)
JBL makes many of the best rated speakers available. Its Charge 3 is a waterproof speaker which boasts luscious sound quality in a portable package. For Black Friday 2017, the Charge 3 comes down to $90. Normally, the Charge 3 retails for $150. Notably, Target and Best Buy both discount the JBL Charge 3 to $90 as well.
Altec Lansing Mini LifeJacket ($50 at Sears)
Want an ultra-portable, rugged speaker? Check out the Altec Lansing Mini LifeJacket 2. This IPX67-rated speaker drops to $50 on Black Friday at Sears, an unbelievable 50 percent savings. That’s a solid deal for a compact, go-anywhere speaker.
Samsung 11.6-Inch Chromebook ($99 at Best Buy) [No Longer Available]
Chromebooks are nifty little devices. The super portable netbook successors are much more functional than their predecessors in the tiny laptop niche. They travel well, and it’s simple to install Linux on most Chromebooks. Black Friday 2017 sees a Samsung 11.6-inch Chromebook for a mere $80. Snag one as a travel PC, project machine, or just for fun. At under $100, it’s a steal.
The Best Black Friday Deals (Not Amazon)
