For anyone with a compatible iPad, the Apple Pencil is pretty much a must-have accessory. The Apple-designed stylus is perfect for everyday note taking and more creative tasks like sketching or drawing.

Today we're highlighting seven Apple Pencil accessories to make the stylus even better.

What About the Second-Generation Apple Pencil?

Just to note, all of our accessory choices are for the first-generation Apple Pencil that is compatible with every iPad Pro except the 2018 version. It's also compatible with the 2018 iPad.

The second-generation Apple Pencil sports a substantial redesign. Only compatible with the 2018 iPad Pro models, the stylus magnetically attaches to the side of the tablet to pair and charge. Because of the integrated charging system, at the time of writing, there are no accessories available for that model.

One of the most maligned features of the Apple Pencil is how it charges. After removing the easily-lost cap, you'll find a male Lighting connector. Apple intends users to charge (and pair) the stylus by inserting it into the Lighting port of the iPad. A male-to-female Lighting cable adapter that often goes overlooked or lost is also included with the Apple Pencil.

So in practical use, neither of those options make a lot of sense.
