Apple has revealed where, when, and how Apple fans can get their hands on the new iPhone X before anyone else. And as well as the usual pre-orders, Apple has confirmed that there will be some iPhone X handsets in stock in Apple Stores for customers walking in off the streets. If they're quick.

Everyone reading this will be familiar with the sorry sight of people queuing in line to get the latest iPhone on day one. In recent years this hasn't happened, with Apple preferring to sell the initial stock through pre-orders instead. However, desperate (kinda) times call for desperate measures.

The Apple iPhone X Is In Stock

In a press release, Apple has announced that the iPhone X will be available to "pre-order on Friday, October 27 at 12:01 AM PDT on apple.com and the Apple Store app". The iPhone X will be available in "more than 55 countries and territories" including the United States, naturally.

However, for those who choose not to pre-order Apple's newest creation, the iPhone X will also be available "in Apple Stores beginning Friday, November 3 at 8:00 AM local time." And what's more, "Stores will have iPhone X available for walk-in customers, who are encouraged to arrive early".

Apple is reported to have suffered from supply chain issues which mean stocks of the new iPhone X will be severely limited. Despite this, Apple is making it known ahead of time that Apple Stores will have stock available to walk-in customers. Which suggests it expects demand to be lower than usual.

This shouldn't come as a big surprise. For starters, the iPhone X is arriving just a month after the iPhone 8, which will have reduced demand. And then there's the $999 starting price which will wipe out another chunk of potential buyers. Lastly, there are the security concerns over Face ID.

Camping Outside for an iPhone X

The upside of all of this is that you should be able to get your hands on a new iPhone X on day one even if you don't pre-order online ahead of time. Just make sure you get to an Apple Store early, or camp out overnight like people used to do in the old days (2007) when Apple was still cool.

Are you planning to buy an iPhone X? If so, are you going to pre-order one online or try your luck on the day? If you're not buying an iPhone X, what's the reason for that decision? Have you already bought a new iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus? Please let us know in the comments below!
