Changing the thermostat to an awful temperature comes to mind. At no time should it ever be
69F or 78F in an office. Put on or take off clothes as needed.

The truth is, open offices SUCK mostly for the reasons stated above. The real reason that companies / management like open offices is so they can cram more workers into the same space.

Whistling, phones and laptops not on silent/vibrate. Tapping on the table (to a tune etc), tapping with foot on ground (to turne)

My annoyance is the two ladies who plan and throw parties in our office. I work in a large department with about 100 people, but we seem to have 2-3 of these breakfast or lunch get togethers a week and they'll come around to everyones cubes with a clipboard and list and want you to make pulled pork in a slow cooker for sandwiches on Thursday or to bake 5 dozen cookies for a coffee and cookie get together they're doing. I got burnt out after a few months and just don't go to them or make food anymore for them as they were so common I just got tired of dealing with it on a weekly basis. I don't mind occassional potlucks around the holidays, but multiple times a week was just too much. Now I just avoid the group breakfasts and lunches with a few other friends from work and we go to lunch or go grab a cup of coffee since we all feel like it's office potluck overload at this point and don't want to spend the hours each week at home baking food for the office.

I worked with a guy that would eat carrots throughout the day. Somehow or another, he managed to make the crunching sound as if he had a microphone attached to his face. Loudest carrot eater...

The most annoying thing that my (thankfully ex) colleague used to do was farting and he also suffered from a chronic cough. I know the chronic cough was hardly his fault and if I felt myself getting wound up I would try and put myself in his shoes to remind me that it cant be much fun for him either. However, if you have a chronic cough you must know how to be polite about it, and not covering your mouth when coughing or coughing in someones face is going a bit far....that would wind me up particularly!
