Shoot The Apple: A More Skillful Alternative To Angry Birds [Android]

Talk to anyone about mobile gaming and the first game that pops into mind will likely be Angry Birds. So imagine my surprise when I downloaded Shoot the Apple, gave it a try, and saw that it was pretty similar in gameplay. You fire objects at a target, navigating or destroying obstacles that are in the way. However, Shoot the Apple has a 4.5 star rating on Google Play, and after playing it a bit, I can see why.

Get Your Nitro On With Asphalt 7 Heat [Android]

Let me just tell you straight away that when it comes to video games, I absolutely love racing games above nearly any other. War games may be the one exception, but racing games are at least at the very top of my list, and it's mostly because I'd love to drive like that in real life, but if I get a couple more speeding tickets, I'm likely to lose my license. So, I must live vicariously through video games.

Move the Box: A Logic-Based Puzzle Game With a Boxy Twist [Android]

I love puzzle games. I love that I can play them on my Android and I love that there are so many puzzle games available on Google Play. Logic-based puzzle games are the best as my brain can use all of the exercise it can get. There’s always Sudoku and Unblock Me, which are classics, but here’s another classic that deserves recognition. Once you see Move the Box, you’ll recognize it immediately if you’ve been a casual gamer for any period of time.

Love Candy & Cute Little Monsters? Play Cut The Rope! [Android & iOS]

The pool of ideas for games seems to be endless, no matter how many new and exciting titles get released. Thankfully because of this endless amount of creativity, there have been many exciting titles that we could all enjoy, especially those which truly grab our attention and challenge our minds to think of common conceptions in a different way. One of those is Cut The Rope.

Try To Last The Longest Without Getting Electrocuted In Jetpack Joyride [Android & iOS]

Jetpack Joyride is a game from the creators of Fruit Ninja, and is available for Android and iOS devices in which the player attempts to "escape" from a lab and last as long as possible before hitting some sort of obstacle. It's impossible to literally escape from the lab, as the scoring is based on the distance you've gone. There are plenty of customizations which you can add to your in-game character, as well as other items which can become useful during gameplay.

Stick Cricket Brings The World’s Most Popular Cricket Game To Your Pocket [Android]

One of the main reasons this game has stayed on in my Android is for its sheer addictiveness. You may not understand cricket in all its nuances, but if you love hitting a ball out of the park with a bat, you just might love Stick Cricket. Stick Cricket is perhaps the most popular cricket game in the Google Play Store. Again, the reason is simplicity.

Run Your Own Bustling Apartment Building With Tiny Tower [Android & iOS]

One game that I stumbled upon and almost passed by is a vintage-looking game called Tiny Tower. Picture the sort of animation that you probably would have seen on a Nintendo-era game, but with a sort of fast-paced and mind-challenging organizational challenge of any number of Facebook games of today. It is clearly a time management game. It's like Diner Dash meets Sim Tower, and it is highly addictive.

Enjoy Twisting Fun While Testing Your Knowledge Of Physics With Angry Birds Space [Android & iOS]

During the last couple of years, one of the most popular games ever created for mobile devices has seen many improvements and plenty of new releases, each with their own twist to the original goal of the game. The game series is now arguably the most popular one for mobile devices (and much more). From plush toys to virtually every item you can think of with its branding, the Angry Birds series has made an impact on the entire world.

For A Long, Fun-Filled Pastime, You Can't Do Better Than Peggle [iOS & Android]

So what’s this magical game, you wonder? As you might have gathered from the title, I’m talking about Peggle. Some of you may already know it from its older PC/Mac versions, which I had the chance to play around 5 years ago. Having been thoroughly addicted to this game back then, I was skeptical about its ability to make an honorable comeback so many years later, and on a more limited device (i.e., my 1st generation iPad). Boy, was I wrong.

PopCap Brings Both Peggle & Plants vs. Zombies To The Android Market [News]

It seems that no matter where you shop for apps, PopCap is there. Steam, the iTunes Store, and even Amazon’s Android App Store have all featured the company’s games. Only the official Android Market has been left behind, leaving fans to make due with just Bejeweled 2. Now that has changed, as PopCap has introduced two of its greatest hits.

The 3 Best First Or Third Person Shooter Games For Android 2.2+

Mobile games are not hard to come by for Android, but the majority fall into the puzzle, tower defense, or scrolling genres. That’s fine, and there are a lot of games that rock. But what if you want to play a first or third-person shooter? The options in this genre are far more limited, most likely because shooters tend to demand more advanced graphics than other games.

My Country - A Free Addictive Sim City-Like Game [Android]

I have a serious thing for city-building games. Even though I almost never play on the PC, my addiction was rekindled when I read Matt’s recent post about modern Sim City alternatives. Where I do play, however, is on my Android device. So I decided to take you on a little tour of a free and full-featured SimCity clone for Android called My Country.

3 Fun Free Racing Games [Android]

Do you ever feel the need to cruise down an open highway, hitting pedal to the metal, going as fast as you can? Well, in case you don’t live in Germany (where there are autobahns with no speed limits), you may have to make do with a simulated racing game. On the bright side, should you choose to play that game on an Android device, you’d be able to play it while in an actual car (just don’t do it when you’re trying to drive)!
