Android Apps on Sale for 20 February 2014: OfficeSuite Pro, ROM Toolbox Pro, and Ultimate Backup (Yes, Pro)

Erez Zukerman 21-02-2014

Each week we scour current Google Play promotions and cherry-pick the best of the best. This week we have a crazy price drop on OfficeSuite Pro 7, as well as nice sales on ROM Toolbox and other utilities.

Because app sales are temporary affairs, by the time you read this, these may no longer be on sale. Worry not: Simply check back next week for some more Android deals!

OfficeSuite Pro 7($14.99, now $1)

Looking for an awesome office suite for Android for free? Well, QuickOffice is entirely free QuickOffice Goes Free On Android & iOS, Offers 10GB Extra Google Drive Storage Google previously made QuickOffice free for Google Apps for Business customers, but now the office productivity suite is free for anyone on both Android and iOS devices. Read More . OfficeSuite Pro, its competitor, still costs money – but this week we’re seeing a steep, steep discount. It comes with a font pack, supports Open Office, integrates with the Box app, and more.

ROM Toolbox Pro($4.99, now $2.99) [No Longer Available]

We mentioned ROM toolbox 4 Simple and Easy Tools to Flash Android ROMs Compared Ever wanted to flash a new ROM on your Android device but didn't have the patience to deal with the whole flashing process? I remember spending hours trying to download, transfer, reboot, flash, reboot, wait,... Read More before, and it even went on sale back in November of last year. If you missed that sale, it’s back — and now is your chance to get this do-it-all system utility for just $3. Many custom ROM users swear by ROM toolbox, as it lets you backup and restore apps (including nandroid backups), batch-uninstall apps, and install multiple ROMs.

Ultimate Backup Pro($2.99, now $1.50)

Another app from JRummy (ROM Toolbox developer), this one is all about backing up and restoring apps. What’s nice about it is that it doesn’t absolutely require root – it will still work (to some extent) even if your phone is not rooted.

DroidEdit Pro($1.99, now $0.99)

Yes, a code editor for Android! You will need an external keyboard to really benefit from DroidEdit, but assuming you like to work on code or other text files when you’re not with your laptop, this is a good option. Includes syntax highlighting for Python, Ruby, HTML, CSS, and others. Supports keyboard shortcuts, bracket matching, and even FTP and Dropbox sync.

Toast Time($2.49, now $0.99)

The trailer for Toast Time wins this roundup – never has breakfast carnage looked quite so gory. The game itself is a retro-tastic, pixelated platformer, starring a toaster (or TERRY, toast-ejecting recoil & reload system). It is just a tad too monochromatic for my liking, but it seems like a well-received game, with a “distinctly British sense of humour” according to the developer.

The Room($1.99, now $0.99)

The Room needs little in the way of introduction: It is one of the most discussed puzzle and escape games. You find yourself in a room, and all you need to do is… get out. Good luck with that. The discount may be due to the recent release of its sequel, The Room 2.

Fist of Awesome($1.99, now $0.99)

A frantic pixelated beat’em-up game, described as “a bit like Quantum Leap but with more bears and lumberjacks.” Definitely an acquired taste!

Tune in next week for some more great Android deals! And of course, feel free to share your finds and favorites in the comments below.
