There's a bunch of refurbished HP gaming PCs on sale today, but should you jump on any of them? We've explained the deals and we have the answers you seek!

Rather than just list the deals (Amazon already does that), we analyze the value of the discount and the quality of the product. Here's how we rate the deals to make it quick and easy for you to decide if they're worth getting:

MAKEUSEOF VIDEO OF THE DAY
SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT
  • Must-Buy: The lowest price ever and a deal that hasn’t been seen often.
  • Good: At or close to the all-time low, but has been available at that price other times.
  • Decent: If you need one, it’s an okay deal, but the price isn’t much lower than its average.

If a deal is just bad (a price hike followed by a drop, a bad product, an extremely small discount, etc.) we don't feature it at all, so you can rest assured that anything we show here is at least worth a look.

We also use FakeSpot to determine the validity of user reviews and help you decide if a deal is worth getting based on the quality of the product as well as the price.

Refurbished HP PCs

As mentioned above, all of these PCs are refurbished. They're sold on Amazon by Woot. Here's what's listed in the description as far as the refurbishing process and warranty:

This Certified Refurbished product is manufacturer refurbished, shows limited or no wear, and includes all original accessories plus a 90-day warranty.

Obviously, 90 days is quite a bit shorter than the one-year warranty you'll get with a brand new computer, so the savings better be quite good to make up for that loss of peace of mind.

HP Omen 17-W253DX Gaming Notebook - $949.99

  • Specs: NVIDIA GeForce 1050TI 4GB GPU, Intel Core I7-7700HQ Processor, 1TB HDD + 128GB SSD, 12GB RAM
  • Price Of New One: Going directly from HP [Broken URL Removed], you'll get an almost identical Omen 17 for $1189.99.
  • Deal Quality: Decent. You'll save a little over $100 going refurbished, which might not be enough to justify the loss of warranty.

HP Omen 17-W053DX Gaming Notepad - $799.99

  • Specs: NVIDIA-GeForce GTX965M graphics card, Intel Core I7-7700HQ Processor, 1 TB HDD + 256GB SSD, 12GB RAM

  • Deal Quality: Good. You'll save just shy of $300 on the refurbished model.

HP Omen 15-AX243DX Gaming Notepad - $799.99

  • Price Of New One: You can an almost exact copy of this laptop new from HP [Broken URL Removed] for $999.99.
  • Deal Quality: Good, as you'll save $200 off the price of a new one.

Amazon is also offering desktops on sale, but those come with older GPUs, making it tough to compare to today's offerings. There's the HP Omen 870-147C Gaming PC that comes with a GeForce GTX750TI graphics cars and a $949.99 price tag, and the HP Omen 870-119 Gaming PC that comes with a GTX960 and an $849.99 price tag. They're both decent deals, but nothing to get too excited about.
