Advanced SystemCare 6 Beta 2.0 – Your Very Own PC Doctor [Windows]

Aaron Couch 01-09-2012

pc doctor for windowsHave you ever thought that there is a lot more to protecting your computers than just an antivirus application? Well of course there is, just like in human or animal medical fields (had to say “animal” since I’m in that field) there is more than just vaccinations – there’s diet, exercise, proper amount of sleep, etc. So why should computers be any different? They’re not.

Obviously, I’m not telling you to take your computer for a walk. However, I am telling you to watch what you feed it. And to bathe it frequently. Ok enough of the nonsense, but there really is some validity to what I’m saying because it’s important to keep your computer running smoothly. Everyone dreads the crashing computer, yet few practice proper techniques to prevent this from happening.

Prevention is the key here. Of course a computer crashing is extreme – you can run into a lot of other problems that are easily prevented and fixed, but still cause a great deal of inconvenience.

Download Advanced SystemCare 6

Advanced SystemCare is an all-in-one computer tool. It can remove software no longer needed, delete junk files that bog down your computer’s hard drive and fix registry issues, as well as tons more. Literally, tons. So much that it is practically impossible and certainly impractical to list everything it can do in this article. Instead what I will cover are the updates which have been added.

First, you have to download Advanced SystemCare 6 Beta 2.0. Then follow along through the article. Or if you prefer to read the article first and then explore the program yourself, that works too.

Initial Tour and Walkthrough

After you’ve gone through the installation process, you’ll be welcomed by a tour of the main features.

There are two modes in Advanced SystemCare: Simple and Expert.

Do note that expert mode simply breaks down the options and allows more customized settings for you to control. This is for those who are more computer literate.

Surfing Protection

There are various ways to protect your computer, but one of the best and most proactive ways to do it is by using a tool to guide you to which websites are safe and which ones might cause harm. Personally, however, I recommend Web Of Trust Browse Safely With Your Own Internet Bodyguard Called WOT Read More for this, but IOBIT’s Surfing Protection also seems to do a decent job as well.

Another great tool is the Performance Monitor, which, like Surfing Protection, isn’t necessarily a “new” feature in beta version 2.0 (introduced in 1.0), but the user interface and functionality have been improved to make it easier to use.

The performance monitor also includes controls to adjust Surfing Protection, Active Optimize, Scan, CleanRAM and to shut down, log off or restart your computer. It also doesn’t have to be maximized like the above view all the time. The angled arrow reduces it to a minimum view with just the CPU and RAM readings visible.

The last section in the tour is Registry Fix. This has been greatly enhanced in version 6 of Advanced SystemCare. Registry Fix is located under Expert Mode (top of second column). If you hover over it, you will see a gear displayed to the right. This is a quick way to access its settings.

Significant Updates and Changes

The Interface

My first thought when running Advanced SystemCare 6 was “Wow! This looks nice!” And it is. It’s clean, easy to use and dark. I’m a sucker for dark interfaces – they just look awesome. There is a skinning option with Advanced SystemCare, but to my knowledge and with what I’ve seen so far, there’s only one skin that comes with it at the moment. Whether they plan to include more in the final version or offer a “skin bank” to download and install more skins from is unknown to me, although I suspect that they will.

Smart Scan

Smart Scan is an excellent feature for those who don’t want to mess with the many options and settings included in Advanced SystemCare. It’s nice that they’re available, but sometimes you just want to quickly scan and fix the issues. Smart Scan allows you to do that!

PC Health Monitor

Have you ever wondered what the overall and general health is of your computer? Well, the PC Health Monitor provides that information, quickly accessed in just a couple of clicks. It provides information for how much malware was removed, how many registry issues were fixed and junk files cleaned, and a lot of other great important information.

Quick Settings

In some ways, this is a feature… depending on how you look at it. Really all IOBIT did was add a link to the most common settings that you might access. There are many more settings besides those in Quick Settings, but the concept to easily access it from practically any window within Advanced System care is excellent. This feature alone makes the new version much easier to use.

Other Helpful Updates

Along with fixed bugs, there have been many other improvements in the Turbo Boost function, Registry Fix, Toolbox, Active Optimize function and Internet Booster. Also, the installation package is much lighter, yet more powerful. A new generation super engine was added to make the disk defragment scan and optimization faster. Overall, Advanced SystemCare 6’s performance is just smarter, and more stable, secure and reliable.

If you’re looking for an all-in-one package to help solve and prevent issues, Advanced SystemCare 6 is a great choice, which I definitely recommend. Do keep in mind that not all features are available in the free version. Some, such as Surfing Protection are only available in Pro. However, even if you only use the features from the free version, I feel Advanced SystemCare is a viable product that could really help you keep your computer running great.

What do you think of Advanced SystemCare 6? Have you tried it yet? Sometimes products such as this work great accompanied with another piece of similar software as well, do you use it in combination with something else?

I really like ASC and IoBit. I have used ASC since v4.

Recently, my Windows 7 has had numerous "Failed" Updates. They are usually Security Updates. My MS Office 2010 updates with no problem.

I have left a few questions on Microsoft Forums or Forums relating to MS products and received a response from supposedly a MS employee stating that because I "used a registry cleaner that it somehow removed a entry that now prohibits a successful Microsoft Security Update."

I have heard stories of trashes registry files but my system is working perfectly except for the failed updates.

Of course, I have tried all the options of turn this and that off and different combinations but to still the same result.

Has anyone ever heard this type of answer before? Just wondering.

I am using this tool since 1 year, in all versions iobit adds something new.
and this v6 is seems to be a milestone in developing ASC.
    i started downloading this.
but i'm confused , as the v5.4 setup was of the size about 27-28 MB.
while this one is of about 15-16 MB.
is it Adding services or removing it?

    • Parth
      September 2, 2012 at 11:14 am

      Ok, i got it.
in this beta version one will have to download most of the tools of toolbox after installing ASC 6b2, externally.
that's why such a big difference in sizes occurred.

I saw the other IOBit products on the rewards page and WOT does not give their site a clean bill of health, entirely. If the consensus is not great should I trust their products?

Hello, I have been using IObit's products for years now, I usually download most of my downloads from CNET, but as with any program there is usually some individuals who have a bad experience like the . To finding out if a program like anti-viruses is research see what other people think of it, I go by weight. If the pros out weigh the cons I will test it out my self. Any thing is prone to getting hacked including anti-virus programs. So, go by your instinct. I never listen to critics lol.

It has many features and working as said. But only problem is after installing it my system is running slow.

anyone faced this issue? i've symantec endpoint antivirus.. will these both clash in a system?

    • xDivineStrikex
      September 1, 2012 at 5:10 pm

Symantec does not like to play well with others and can cause your system to slow down when putting a program like Advance Systemcare on the computer.

    • Kevin Wiley

I have always had great system performance with ASC, the only time my system started slowing down was when I switched to Bitdefender Total Internet Security 2013. It was an update from 2012 within a few days it just slowed down. I removed it and back to top performance. I then installed ESET Smart Security and been very happy with that configuration
