You may have been using Adobe Photoshop for a long time, but even then there are lots of little things to learn. Why not start afresh with a beginner's perspective?

Try out a new Photoshop tutorial series on YouTube launched by Adobe itself. The new series is a welcome attempt to learn the little things that make Photoshop such an awesome tool for creatives of all kinds.

3, 2, 1… Photoshop!

Adobe Systems evangelist Julieanne Kost hosts this new series. Anyone who has taken one of her Lynda.com classes on Photoshop and Lightroom can attest to the quality of her teaching.

The tutorial series has begun with just seven videos. More are sure to be added soon. Here's the first video of the series which will help you make up your mind about the presence or absence of usable tips:

As you can guess from the voiceover, the videos are not comprehensive projects...but little tips that can enhance your workflow. For instance, in the very first video, I learned that two images with different aspect ratios can be cropped to the same size with the crop tool.

All the videos are brief and so far extend to just five minutes. There isn't any schedule to the uploads so we can only hope this official effort from Adobe will be supported well.

So far, you are in good hands. Fast Company had included Julieanne Kost on the list of the "100 Most Creative People in Business." She takes you through tips on brushes, layers panel, color selection, the zoom feature, and smart filters.
