8 Interesting Subreddits I Found Using Reddit's "Random" Button redditguyEveryone loves Reddit, and if you don’t then it’s just because you haven’t found the right subreddit! There’s one in there for everybody, and it’s one of the Internet’s largest communities. Reddit is at the forefront of social news and sometimes it seems like this website and its content gets more attention than a major media network like CNN or Fox.

A completely community-driven website means no overhanging bias and the freshest content possible. Your F5 key will slowly begin to feel the wear after years of using Reddit, as there’s always something new for you to look at, be it pictures, news, or other interesting links. Reddit is one of the biggest time-waster websites online. In this post, let’s help you waste even more time on Reddit.

There’s a nice little button across the top menu bar on Reddit that allows you to access a subreddit at random. This week, I’ve mashed that little button more times than ever. Now it’s time to share some of the most interesting results with you.

While there are a lot of subreddits dedicated to sharing news and information on the subject of technology, /r/TechNewsToday is relatively undiscovered (at around 8,700 subscribers) and the quality of submissions in this subreddit are very high. I definitely recommend this if you’re a fan of the content on MakeUseOf, as you’ll see lots of similar features here.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind subreddit. /r/mildlyinteresting is filled with pictures of things that’ll make you smirk. You can find all sorts of ridiculous and amusing things, like you see in the above screenshot.

There’s nowhere else on Reddit that you’ll be able to find pictures almost perfectly-round cookies, quirky fortune cookie sayings, tracking numbers with consecutive zeroes, or things that are awkwardly shaped like other things.

This subreddit will definitely tickle your nostalgia bone. /r/gamecollecting is filled with retro gamers who seek out and collect classic titles on consoles like the NES, SNES, Genesis, and more. It features awesome photographs of snags that people find at yard sales and thrift stores. Subscribe and you’ll be surprised at what some people find for $20 at a local flea market.

I had never even heard of MineZ until randomly stumbling upon this subreddit, but you can check out the trailer above. MineZ is a Minecraft server that plays off of DayZ, the popular zombie-survival shooter. /r/MineZ is filled with community information and screenshots from their many servers. If you’re a Minecraft fan, this is an awesome project.

As the name seems to suggest, /r/woahdude is all about content that will just trip you out. The subreddit is full of all sorts of crazy animated GIFs and images that will drive your eyes and brain nuts. I can only assume that this board is closely related to /r/trees.

The concept is simple. The OP posts a pic and everyone else takes OP’s pic, edits it, and resubmits it. This goes on and on until something magical is born and hilarity eventually ensues. /r/photoshopbattles holds official battles with voting, a hall of fame, and more.
