Everyone loves free games. Getting some good entertainment without opening the wallet is a good feeling. Whether you are trying to kill some downtime at work, or looking for something cool to do while hanging around the house, booting up a free game is always a good thing.
Besides gaming, another thing I love is watching some television. What if there was some way to combine the two? What if there was a way to take our favorite television shows and turn them into video games? Wouldn’t it be even better if there were some great games based on our favorite television shows that were free?
Here is some good news for you; there is! In fact, there is abundance of free television based games out there that cost a whopping zero dollars to play. Gaming, television, and free; it does not get much better than that.
Deal Or No Deal ()
Maybe Deal or No Deal is not the most popular show on TV anymore, but it is still plenty of fun. Best of all, you can play it free in your web browser. Sure, you will not be playing for a real million dollars like the people on TV, but it still makes a great distraction when you need to kill a few minutes.
SpongeBob Diner Dash (iOS & )
One of the most popular time management games teams up with everyone’s favorite cartoon fry cook in this awesome iOS and Windows game. This game makes you think on your feet to keep the customers of Bikini Bottom happy as you serve up Crabby Patties and other delicacies in a fast-paced game that is completely free to play (with in-app purchases for supplemental content).
If you are a fan of time management games, this one is definitely worth checking out.
This one is a really simple game, but I just love Dexter so much that I had to include it. You just click around the level looking for clues to solve a murder. There are seven clues hidden throughout the level. Dexter is a quick game, in fact it will only take a few seconds. Just make sure you turn your speakers up as the ambient noise and music is creepy and makes you feel like Dexter.
There is also a 3D Dexter game available for iOS. It is good, but it costs $5.99.
Monk’s Mind Game ()
Monk is a detective with obsessive-compulsive disorder. This game is all about helping him get through his daily life by performing the mundane tasks he is forced to deal with. You will straighten forks, clean glasses and help Monk manage his life. There are five levels to keep you busy, and you will have to perform each task three times in each level. After all, he has OCD, so cleaning the glass once just is not sufficient.
UFC Undisputed (iOS)
There is a light version for the UFC’s mobile game available that lets you fight as much as you want, you just cannot choose from the entire pool of fighters. Still, it is fun to get in there and slug it out without spending any cash. It is a well-done game, and perfect for the person who loves watching UFC on TV.
This free game is based around the hit TV show on History Channel with the same name. You are tasked with trying to catch the biggest, toughest alligator possible while traversing some of the harshest swamps you could ever imagine. The game is getting rave reviews on Google Play and the App Store, so it might worth a look even if you are not interested in the TV show.
You will enjoy most of these games even if you are not a fan of the shows. After all, who doesn’t love hunting alligators or trying to help an OCD man get ready for the day. If you are a fan of the shows, then double bonus for you!
