Photoshop Mix v2.0 (Android, iOS): Work With Layers on Touchscreens

Forget about Photoshop Touch and even the powerful Photoshop Express. Adobe is working hard on a new app that puts both of those to shame. In July, Photoshop Mix finally updated to v2.0 and brought a slew of fantastic new features.

Photoshop Mix concentrates more on being able to play around with layers, an essential element of image editing. With Photoshop Mix, you can combine up to five layers to make complex images, control opacity with Blend Modes, and apply multiple filters on several layers.

These are the kinds of image editing tools that were normally found on desktops, but with the powerful hardware of new smartphones, Photoshop Mix 2 is an absolute delight for anyone who loves taking photos.

Photoshop Fix (iOS): The Best of Photoshop Touch, for Free

The touchscreen-friendly version of Photoshop has been around for some time, but Photoshop Express burdens you with annoying in-app purchases. However, not many people know about Photoshop Fix, and it’s Adobe’s best-kept secret.

Photoshop Fix offers all the major photo editing tools you will want at no price and no in-app purchases. It has everything from Photoshop’s basic toolbar, including cropping, vignettes, exposure and contrast tweaks, and even the popular Healing brush to remove retouch photos and remove artifacts.

Plus, Photoshop Fix works with transparent backgrounds and handles high-resolution images, breaking you free from the 2000×2000 pixel barrier that most image editing apps restrict you to.

Adobe Spark Suite (Web, iOS): Create Beautiful Posts, Articles, or Videos

Not everyone is born with great aesthetic sense. So even if you’re good with creating content, you might not have the style to be able to translate it into an incredible video or a photo with gorgeous graphics.

Adobe Spark bridges the gap between content and style by taking care of the “make it look good” part for you. There are three basic apps: Spark Post, Spark Page, and Spark Video. Post lets you work with images, adding filters and captions to make them look cool. Adobe Color (Web): Find Matching Color Schemes in an Instant

Color theory can be difficult. Even if you understand basic complementary colors, figuring out triads, shades, and analogous colors isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Just offload all of that to Adobe Color instead.

Tim reviewed Adobe Color in detail back when it was called Kuler and promised to find the perfect color scheme every time Find The Perfect Color Scheme Every Time With Adobe Kuler Whether you're building a website, designing a brochure or painting your spare room; finding the perfect combination of colors can be a daunting task. It often takes more than just personal taste to marry shades... Read More . The web app has got a facelift since then, but the basic functionality remains the same. Either upload an image to figure out its main colors, or just pick a color yourself. Adobe Color will then find complementary, compound, analogous, monochromatic, or triad based schemes based on it.

Move the “hands” of the color wheel with your mouse (click-and-drag) and the entire color scheme updates on the fly. You have hex colors at the bottom, as well as RGB ratios. And if you’re stuck for inspiration, click “Explore” to check out some recent themes picked by other users.

Does Free Not Mean Quality?

Adobe has a long history of making products that professionals swear by, and are willing to pay a good amount for. So when a company like that makes free programs, what does that say to you?

Does it signify that the economics of apps have changed, or do you think these free apps are coming at the cost of the high quality that the company was once noted for?

It is useful. But my friend told me that adobe company ereases their priority applications from other blogs. They even asks the adobe users to reenter the product key. So, they can verify, if they are using with their permission.

    Is it true?

For the record, CS2 is NOT for free. It is available as a free download for people who are already licensed owners and need to reinstall.

Adobe did this almost 2 years ago, allowing you to download CS2. I think you only had to registrar. Maybe they just thought it was time to change.

Hugely disappointed with the article. The links are redirects. MIX is not available for Android. CS2 is gone...

It's complex, you can download and use it, however this is provided for users who already purchased it. In addition it is intended to old versions of windows XP/ 2000 which means it won't work properly on any modern OS. Same for apple!!!

CS2 seems to work on Windows up to 7 but 8.1 is a no go and I doubt 10 will run it either.

I have CS2 on 8.1, takes some work installing but it works just fine.
Windows has amazing backwards compatibility, you can still run some software made back in 1995. Unfortunately, not all of the software will run optimally and so you're going to bump into some issues. As long as you know how to get past them, it should work fine.

As a sidenote, though, the adobe acrobat version from back then can't install anymore. Apparently this is due to a "compatibility" patch that Microsoft made (which makes very little sense.) If anyone can figure out a way around that (other than uninstall the update) please let me know.

Who writes this crap? There is NO freeware in the links above. I see this again and again Writers just write things, don't fact check, and don't follow up. Is this just a ploy to get people to come too your site?

It was hugely disappointing after reading that I could get CS2 for free only to find out that the readers here know more than the author and there is no free PS CS2. Was the article written months in advance and hence the author didn't know it was a mistake? Don't editors find this type of issues before publishing? Hm...may be I am putting too much faith in makeuseof editors/writers.

Acrobat Reader has been forgotten and should be on this list. Commenting on PDFs is no longer confined to the paid version of Acrobat.

false information on here.. the CS2 is not free. Adobe have said so. your only supposed to download it if you paid for it.

it was "released" like this by mistake.

    I quote from Adobe themselves

" On behalf of Adobe Systems Incorporated …

You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!

What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don’t require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. (Special serial numbers are provided on the page for each product download.) See .

Only customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products may use the serial numbers provided during the download.
