Do you love Lego? Do your kids love Lego? I’ll bet you know someone who does and would absolutely love for you to have Lego applications on their Android phone. Lego is fun and creative and will expand the sorts of things your phone can ultimately be useful for.
There are a huge variety of Lego applications available for Android phones. Today we’ll introduce you to three of the best – Lego Creationary which gets the user to guess what is being made using the Lego blocks; Lego Instructions which gives you the guidance you need to create cool stuff with your real-life Lego blocks; and Unblock Lego which is a version of Rush Hour using Lego blocks.
1. Lego Creationary [Android 2.1+]
is an official Lego application designed to get your spatial awareness thinking cap on when you have no physical Lego around to play with. This game will show Lego creations being built and users need to guess what is being made.
To play, you roll a dice and get given a category. The application builds the object for you and gives you four options to choose from in order to guess what it is building. It sounds easy, but it will keep your kids happy for a while!
There’s 95 different puzzles in four different categories, so there’s plenty to keep you occupied. Users can also share their scores on Facebook if they like.

One major flaw I found with this game though is the size – 15.5 MB!
2. Lego Instructions [Android 1.6+]
is a fan-built application for people who love to create with their Lego pieces. It features large step-by-step pictures to show kids how to make these items.
The creations you can make are based on popular Lego sets and include things like:
- Hen & Chicken.
- Blue Bus.
- Thunder Blazer.
At the moment there are just over 30 designs to make, but this will hopefully increase with future versions of the application.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow – almost exactly like using the real instructions from the box. This application would be great for families who have lost their instructions or want to see what else they can build with what they’ve got.
3. Unblock Lego [No Longer Available]
If you’re a fan of Rush Hour/Traffic Jam/Unblock Me and Lego you’ll love this application, Unblock Lego. Use your logic to slide the Lego blocks around and ultimately get the red Lego block out of the Lego traffic jam. It’s addictive.
