When it comes to new technology, it's hard to find something more exciting than 5G. The incredible speed offered by the connection is impressive, but it takes a long time to roll out 5G to everyone.

T-Mobile is one of the leaders for 5G in the US, and the mobile carrier is looking to make 5G even faster by the end of 2021. Not only that, but the company plans to roll out faster 5G to 90-percent of Americans by 2024, as mentioned during its virtual analyst event.

T-Mobile's 5G Plans

As far as the increased speed, T-Mobile says that users already covered by its Ultra Capacity 5G (which is its faster mid-band and mmWave service) will jump from 300Mbps up to 400Mbps, which is a gigantic improvement. The company is accomplishing this speed increase by having additional megahertz devoted to 5G. Not only that, the company says that more speed increases are on the way.

T-Mobile 5G rollout

Currently, T-Mobile covers approximately 125 million US users with its Ultra Capacity 5G network, and the company intends to expand to 200 million by the end of 2021 and 250 million by the end of 2022. From there, the company will jump that number to 90-percent of the US by 2024. That's a very lofty goal, but hopefully, T-Mobile can live up to its promise.

5G is Coming

If you don't live in an area with the ultra-fast 5G, you may only have to wait a couple more years, as T-Mobile and all of the other US carriers are looking to aggressively roll out more as time goes on.
