Is there any way I can automatically set files and folders on two separate non-LAN networked computers to synchronize automatically? Basically, just like Dropbox, but without the 2 GB limit and of course for free!

I tried sugarsync. This was very good. Also had an i phone app for a free 5 GB account. Thanks for the above information though :)

I would look into rsync. It's relatively easy to setup a rsync server after you install cygwin and it will easily allow syncs directly between the computers (with no limits). It also supports resuming.

Try one of these P2P serviceshttp://www.sendoid.comhttp://www.tonido.comyou have to keep a window of program open on one PC in order to access it from another PC

Hi Live Meshhttps://www.mesh.com/welcome/default.aspxWindows Live SkyDrive http://explore.live.com/windows-live-skydrive Live Skydrive (25GO) is for online storage, Live Sync is primarily for folder synchronization across computers (no storage) while Live Mesh offers a good mix of both though with limited storage space(5GB). Live Sync https://sync.live.com/•You can share folders to be accessible to other LiveSync users which enables us to have separate folders accessible by all users – and some accessible to just selected users. •No real limits on space for us – 20 folders & 20,000 files in each. •No online storage – but at least one of our servers/PCs will always be switched on so that’s not a huge deal for us. JungleDisk to maintain an online backup anyway with full versioninghttps://www.jungledisk.com/personal/

If you are looking for something with online storage (backup, computers do not need to be online at the same time) I would recommend
ADrive
http://www.adrive.com/If you don't want to store them online and both computers are running at the same time
PureSync
might do the jobhttp://www.jumpingbytes.com/en/puresync/
